From 1906-1922 she based herself in Paris & painted throughout Europe & Northern Africa, sending letters & postcards home to her older sister Alta nee Ravlin ... A native of Kaneville, Illinois, Ravlin studied under John Vanderpoel at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and under William Merritt Chase at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
